Free on Standard for sites of 1–10 users: the whole CRM, industry packs, sidebars and Ask, with about 60 to 100 Ask analyses a month; background capture, summaries and drafts need a paid plan.
Free is Standard on a small site: you don't choose it, your site size does. Atlassian bills apps by the number of users on your Jira site, so a site with 10 or fewer users pays nothing for Rainbook on Standard.
Why teams choose Advanced
Advanced is everything in Standard with more power:
- A larger AI budget. 35% of your monthly price comes back to you as AI, against 25% on Standard. At 50 users that's 7,000 AI actions a month instead of 3,125.
- Full activity history, kept as long as you choose. Keep every change searchable for 13 months, 2, 3 or 5 years, or forever, and export the full history in one file.
- Higher Ask and agent limits. For example, 40 follow-up questions in one Ask thread instead of 20, 120 AI requests per person per hour instead of 60, and 50 proposals per person per hour from Rovo and AI clients instead of 20.
- Background capture on small sites. A site of 10 or fewer users on Advanced captures email and calendars, and Rainbook Mail Sync stays $0.
Advanced also includes the optional Regulated pack (early access) for teams in healthcare, financial services, government and legal.
What's on sale on launch day
Rainbook goes on sale on the Atlassian Marketplace on Tue 15 Dec 2026.
- Standard, with the free tier, is on sale from launch day, together with Rainbook Mail Sync.
- Advanced appears on the listing once Atlassian approves Rainbook's editions, which follows Atlassian's approval of the app itself. Until you see it, start on Standard: you can change edition later in Manage apps and keep everything you've built.
- Life sciences, government contractors and legal packs are early access.
Prices
Prices are per Jira user per month, billed by Atlassian. An annual subscription costs 10 times the monthly price, so you get two months free.
| Users on your Jira site | Standard | Advanced |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 10 | $0 | $29 a month for the site |
| 11 to 100 | $2.50 per user | $4.00 per user |
| 101 to 250 | $0.75 per user | $1.20 per user |
| 251 to 1,000 | $0.30 per user | $0.48 per user |
| 1,001 to 2,500 | $0.15 per user | $0.24 per user |
| 2,501 and up | $0.10 per user | $0.16 per user |
A site of 11 to 100 users pays the 11 to 100 rate on every user, so 15 users pay for 15. Above 100 users, each rate applies only to the users inside its band, so large teams pay much less per person.
| Users | Standard per year | Advanced per year |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | $0 | $290 |
| 50 | $1,250 | $2,000 |
| 100 | $2,500 | $4,000 |
| 300 | $3,775 | $6,040 |
| 1,000 | $5,875 | $9,400 |
Atlassian counts every user on your Jira site, not only the people who use Rainbook. Settings › Plan and usage shows "Billed Jira users". In everyone mode, CRM users reads "Everyone in Jira", with no count: everyone who can open the CRM space uses Rainbook, so CRM users are the billed Jira users. Group modes keep the CRM-user count. Agent accounts, such as Rovo agents, never count as CRM users.
Rainbook Mail Sync
Rainbook Mail Sync captures Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace email and calendars onto your Jira work items and powers the Gmail and Outlook sidebars. It has one edition.
Mail Sync requires an active Rainbook subscription.
| Users on your Jira site | Mail Sync |
|---|---|
| 1 to 10 | $0 (the sidebars; background capture when Rainbook is on Advanced) |
| 11 to 100 | $0.25 per user |
| 101 to 250 | $0.10 per user |
| 251 to 1,000 | $0.05 per user |
| 1,001 to 2,500 | $0.03 per user |
| 2,501 and up | $0.02 per user |
The same band rules and annual pricing apply. A 100-user site pays $250 a year for Mail Sync; a 1,000-user site pays $775.
Microsoft 365 users connect their own mailbox wherever their IT allows it, or IT connects everyone; Google Workspace capture is connected by the IT admin; capture is labelled beta; personal Gmail opens after Google's review, with a waitlist.
AI included in your subscription
Rainbook's AI is included in your subscription, with fair-use limits. Each person can run up to 25 Ask analyses a day, within a monthly fair-use limit for each person; questions that fit a report don't count. Summaries and other automatic AI draw on their own monthly pool. Your admins can lower the limits or give a person more. Reports, search and everything else keep working.
Each month your site gets the larger of two amounts: your edition's share of the monthly price (25% on Standard, 35% on Advanced) or 500 AI actions for each person who uses Rainbook's AI that month, with at least 1,000 for the site. Settings › AI budget shows your site's amount and the reset date.
Admins see the month's AI actions, who is using them and the reset date in Settings › AI budget, and can set each person's daily analyses from 1 to 100 or give a person more. Offers for more AI appear only to admins, never to the rest of your team. Need a little extra in a busy month? Rainbook support can add AI actions to your site with a free top-up code.
Rainbook's own AI, capture and background jobs are included in your subscription and use neither Rovo credits nor Automation steps. The Rainbook agent in Rovo, Rovo Studio agents that use Rainbook's tools, and Automation rules built from Rainbook's templates or actions use your Atlassian allowances: Rovo credits from 3 Dec 2026, and Automation steps from your first renewal on or after 3 Dec, shown per rule in your admin Usage tab.
Free trials
Start a free trial from either Marketplace listing. A trial gives you every feature of the edition you're trying, including background capture and that edition's monthly AI, with at least 1,000 AI actions. The Rainbook workspace shows "Trial: N days left", and Rainbook admins get a reminder in Rainbook seven days and one day before the trial ends.
If a trial ends without a purchase, everything you created stays in Jira. A site of 10 or fewer users moves to the free tier. A larger site becomes read-only in Rainbook: your team can still open every record in Jira, and buying a subscription switches everything back on.
Buying through a Solution Partner
Atlassian Solution Partners can quote and buy Rainbook and Rainbook Mail Sync for you through the Atlassian Marketplace, together with your Atlassian subscriptions. Atlassian's Solution Partner discount applies to both apps. Ask your partner for a quote, or contact us through support if you'd like an introduction.
Changing or ending your subscription
- Standard to Advanced. Change edition in Manage apps. The larger AI budget, longer history and higher limits apply straight away.
- Advanced to Standard. Activity history older than 13 months moves to downloadable monthly archive files on the next daily run. Nothing is deleted.
- When a subscription lapses. Rainbook shows "Rainbook's subscription isn't active" to admins and becomes read-only: no AI, no capture and no imports. Your records stay usable in Jira, and Rainbook keeps private deals and private threads private.
- Uninstalling. Your deals, accounts, contacts and email stay in Jira. See what you keep.
- Jira plan. On Jira Free, everyone on the site sees every record; private deals and private threads need Jira Standard or above.
